MHA #10 - Friday afternoon

notagooseSo Doc had been teaching Goose about the importance of social interactions and how to actually talk to people away from school or work and actually have fun and socialise. He had wanted a status update about how his first week was going and so that Friday afternoon Goose decided to give him a call via video link since this one didn’t require a formal report as, Doc pointed out, would have defeated the whole purpose of this experiment.
“My Gooseman!” Doc grinned as he appeared on the screen, “how has your first week back at Fandom been going? How was your class? The Doc wants details!”
“Hello…………Doc.” Goose replied with a slight smile, “I ………have survived my first week of teaching I even …………..went to one of the local bars a couple of times” and he proceeded to tell Doc about those experiences, complete with long and dramatic pauses.
“Tell me, My Gooseman!” Doc chuckled after Goose had finished, “have you taken any kind of substance other than alcohol?”
That was the second time this week someone had inferred he’d ingested something.
“No……….this is normal.” Goose said slowly, “why………do you ask?”
“You normally don’t have a fondness for dramatic pauses in your sentences,” Doc replied.
Goose shrugged, “this is …………how I speak.”
Doc shook his head, “this is one of those Fandom things you told us about, isn’t it?”
“No……….I don’t think so.” Goose remarked, “I haven’t noticed …………unusual or different.” he paused and then asked a question that he thought Doc might be able to explain, “hey …………Doc?” he asked, “what’s a …………..special brownie?”
Of all the things Doc was expecting, that wasn’t it and immediately started laughing, practically falling off the chair that he was sitting on …. It was going to be a while before he attempted to even answer that question.
