notagooseHi, this is Tracy and this time round I’m playing two brand new characters (well one is technically a returning character to Fandom) and I’m also playing my first teacher since 2007 where I played Geordi La Forge, who is also teaching engineering like Geordi did as well :)
Also apparently I like playing characters who go by nicknames.
So here’s my two new characters plus an updated profile for Alara.
. Shane ‘Goose’ Gooseman, Teacher, 19 Years Old
. From The Adventures of the Galaxy Rangers, a sci-fi animated western set in the future and follows an Intergalactic Space Force called the Galaxy Rangers as they battle an ongoing invasion threat from the Queen of the Crown. Shane is a member of said Space Force.
. From the year 2106 and is based in West Australia, normally resides at the Galaxy Rangers Headquaters, BETA (Bureau of Extra-Terrestrial Affairs) Mountain
. Will be living at MHA #10 while he is at Fandom
. Is extremely tall, being 7’ and has a strong muscular build. He has short blond hair and bright green eyes, he bears a striking resemblance to a young Clint Eastwood as that is who his character was modelled after
. His fashion sense hasn’t changed at all and still wears a variation of his black cowboy outfit pictured here The only difference is he always has his Galaxy Ranger badge on now
. Was a former student, graduating class of 2014 but for him it has only been a year since he graduated Fandom
. Is coming in about half way through his canon and in that time has been promoted to the Series 5 Galaxy Ranger team
. This appointment made a lot of important and powerful people in his world very unhappy and Commander Walsh (who is Shane’s father but Shane doesn’t know this fact yet) has made arrangements for him to teach at Fandom til the situation cools down a bit
. Will be teaching Introduction to Engineering
. Goose is a genetically engineered soldier called a Supertrooper, he grew up in the barracks of Wolf Den and is the only remaining stable Supertrooper after a civilian injected a gas into the population and drove the other Supertroopers insane. He avoided this fate because he was on the firing range at the time.
. As part of his deal for avoiding being put on ice, Goose has to hunt down the other Supertroopers who escaped Wolf Den, he is not happy about this deal but it is better than the alternative
. As a Supertropper, Goose has bio defences that allow him to withstand any kind of attack provided he has survived the initial exposure to the attack. Now that he is a Series 5 Galaxy Ranger and has been fitted with the implants, he has greater control over these abilities and if he has access to his Ranger Badge, he can activate his abilities within minutes rather than several minutes and hours it would take without them
. His main ability is that he can adapt his molecular structure to fit in with his surroundings, ie. if he is underwater he will develop gills but he can’t control this ability as it it dependent on what environment he is in so he is not a metamorph despite what a certain General thinks about that
. He has heightened senses, the ability to heal and to a lesser extent can briefly mimic other peoples abilities as well
. Is a weapons expert and tends to get very trigger happy, especially on the battlefield
. Is an excellent pilot even though he has a habit of crashing the ships that he flies and is good at fixing different machines, hence the reason that Commander Walsh arranged for him to teach engineering. He can also randomly play the electric guitar.
. Still tends to be withdrawn and reserved but being a Galaxy Ranger has helped him loosen up and trust people more
. He will be more open about being a Supertroooper and the fact that he is a Galaxy Ranger
. Josephine ‘Jo’ Jones, Freshman, 14 Years Old
. From the Malory Towers series by Enid Blyton, a boarding school series set in Post World War 11 Cornwall, England
. Specifically, Last Term at Malory Towers
. Is from 1950s England circa 1952 and while it is not stated where her home actually is, it is not that far to drive up to Malory Towers so she is from South West England
. Has short light brown hair that she styles in a bob, is of average height and has a heavier set build - it was constantly remarked in the book that she was fat and heavy and while she has attempted to improve her general health, she is still on the heavier side
. Dresses quite conservatively since she is from a very wealthy family in the 1950s and tends to wear blouses and long skirts or dresses, she never wears pants or shorts
. Is completely ordinary and has no powers or advanced skillset
. Is several months post canon, she has been expelled for being a thief [she stole money from the school Matron’s safe in an attempt to get her original five pounds that she was sent for her birthday back and took more than she meant to - she took the money with the idea that she would get her father to pay it back but was found out after she took a first former into town to spend it - only an upper form girl could take a first former into the town and Jo was only a second former - it was these circumstances that eventually led her to convince Deirdre (aforementioned first former) to run away with her and it ultimately led to her expulsion.
. She will not be willingly volunteering the fact that she got expelled. The Administration will know the circumstances that she has been expelled for but Jo is ashamed of what happened at Malory Towers and will be attempting to avoid mentioning her former school
. Was deeply unpopular at said former school, where she liked to throw her weight around and boast and brag about how wealthy she was and tried to use that to make friends but it didn’t really work
. A lot of her mannerisms were from how she was raised by her parents, particularly her father, who always encouraged her to misbehave and be bottom of the form because he always was and ended up becoming extremely wealthy
. We don’t know much else about her family - it was indicated that her father was originally from a poorer background and made his fortune and that her mother was from an upper class background. Her dad’s name is Charlie and her mother was only referred to as Mrs. Jones. Jo also made a passing reference to having a brother and based on what little info we get from this, he is quite younger than Jo
. Is terrified of cold water and is unable to swim, she tries to avoid it all costs, this is mostly due to her experiences at Malory Towers where the girls would bully her in the pool because that was the one area she couldn’t boast and brag
. Will be getting care packages from home, mostly because her dad feels guilty over everything that happened and is trying to further buy Jo’s affection to try and make up for it - expensive sweets and chocolates and she will be leaving these in the common rooms so feel free to mod finding one of her boxes of treats
. Is now attempting to reinvent herself and be a nicer and more humble person and is rather glad to start over again
. Alara Kitan, Sophomore, 15 Years Old
. From Seth MacFarlene’s, The Orville
. Is from the year 2410
. Is several years pre-canon but has started to consider the possibility that she doesn’t want a career in the academics, which she knows will disappoint her family so she’s keeping this information to herself for now as she tries to figure out what she wants to do after school
. Will eventually decide to join the military, have a falling out with her family who are from quite well regarded in academic circles on her homeworld and end up becoming Chief of Security onboard the Orville
. Xelayan, humanoid in appearance with ridges on her forehead and she has large pointy ears that also have ridges on them
. Due to the extremely high gravity on Xelaya, Alara is naturally very physically strong in Earth like gravity and tends to forget how strong she is when it comes to normal every day activities and so has a tendency to break things by accident
. Is subconsciously afraid of fire and being trapped (she later finds out there was a fire in her room as a baby but at this point she only gets inklings of fear and she is unsure as to why)
. Discovered there was a gym in the dorms and has started working out there most mornings, also tends to go through a few punching bags due to aforementioned said strength

. Tracy, 34, from the evil timezone of AEST and I work as a barista for a 24 hour fast food venue so my availability is all over the place now
. I try to check in before work and when I’m on my break but some days I’ll be on SP
. I set up a discord ages ago and forgot I did so I can found there as ladyoftime42 if any one needs to reach me
